Scrapping Retreat November 2010

Last weekend I attended a Scrapping Retreat organised by Tracey & Lesa. I had a fabulous time with great food and great company. It was held at the QCCC at North Mount Tamborine. The venue was really good but it was quite cool up there on the mountain. Anyway, below is some scrapping that I got done. Haven't scrapped since not long after Masen was born so it was good to get back into it. Bought a couple of things at the scrap shop that the girls had set up. Have a few projects that I would like to get done for Xmas but we shall see how I go for time.

...my house is back to normal!!!. We moved everything back into the office yesterday and the fish tank is gone. The hutch is now where the fish tank was which now frees up space in the front hallway. It looks fantastic. My house looks massive. Now to tidy up Mia's room and the lounge room. It time for a toy clean out before Santa comes.

Well...

...the carpets dried out and the carpet cleaner has just left. They should be right to start moving stuff back into the office tomorrow. YEAH!!! I can finally get my office out of the kitchen and lounge room. The one thing I will miss is being able to catch up on my internet tv whilst cooking dinner or washing up bottles. That has been handy....
So all will be back to normal soon. See ya later...

Fish Tank....

Yesterday was a Pupil Free Day for Mia so I took her, Masen, a friend of hers and my neighbour to Movie World. We had a fantastic day. Lots of fun. Especially the girls. We then got home to find that we had no power in the house. Finally got inside to find that the fish tank had been leaking and there was water all over the floor in the family room. Also on the carpet in the study and a small area on the carpet in Masen's room. YEAH!!! NOT!!! Couldn't believe it. Rang Brendan and told him to come home. A million towels later and a couple of hoses to empty the tank until it stopped leaking we finally got the leak under control. However everything in the study is wet. Even the bottoms of my scrapping albums. AARRRGGGHHH.... Luckily my pc is fine and my lo's in the albums are in plastic. So now the room is filled with fans and we are trying to dry it all out. We hired a wet vac and sucked out 99% of the water. My desk is now in the kitchen which is a pain but on the upside I can watch telly, watch Masen and work on the pc all at the same time. It is a llittle convenient.
So now we have a fish tank and stand with all the bits for sale. If you know of anyone that is interested call Brendan on 0438 057 355.

Busy..... still

Yep still flat out here....Business is keeping me very busy. Mia & Masen make me doubly busy and then add all the other day to day rubbish and I am suprised that I have found 10 minutes to sit down and type this. Anyway we are all well. I haven't scrapped in months and I am missing it but think I may have forgotten how. I am however going on a scrapping retreat next month and I must I am really looking forward to it. Bit of scrapping and just having a break from general life and the family.

The photos above are from a wedding Brendan & I went to last weekend. We took these before we left. Really happy with how they came out. Can't believe I actually got a great photo of the kids and they are both looking at the camera at the same time and smiling.

Anyway, best get going, have washing to hang out and then get organised for the school run. Looks like its going to rain again. Fun...

This week...

Well this week has been a big one. Did my first round of pays to the staff this week. It all went really well. Suprised myself actually!!! It just took a little while. Will be much quicker next week. Settling in slowly to life as a business owner.
Brendan had a tooth pulled out on Monday and had the biggest infection in his mouth that the dentist had seen in 10 years. Not sure what happened there??? Tuesday his mum went into hospital to have her second Anuerism coiled. Surgery went well. Wednesday Brendan came down with a cold (man-flu). Thursday he took the day off work as he was pretty sick. Today I took Masen for his 4 month vaccination. He was a brave little boy. Screamed like a girl when it actually happened but other than that he was very good. Fell asleep soon after. Mia is good this week. The same old routine for her and myelf.

Get comfy....

....cause this might take a while.
Its been so long I have so much to tell. Just not sure where to start. Cause I have accidently uploaded my pics backwards the story needs to be backwards so I will start with the most recent stuff.

The first photo is a bunch of flowers that we received the other day. They are from some wonderful new friends of ours. (They are Brendan's bosses also) We officially took over Red Rock Noodle Bar Springwood on Wednesday 11th August. We our now the proud owners of a Red Rock Franchise!!! Its very exciting but also very nerv racking. It has been a long road to here but we finally made it. There is so much work to do now but a very bright future ahead of us. (We'll see come Wednesday and its time to pay the staff and I struggle through MYOB!!!) Should be interesting.

The most recent photo of Masen take a couple of weeks ago (I know, I have been slack with the camera) We have just been so busy getting organised for the new business that poor Masen has been a bit left out. Anyway, this is him in his Superman outfit. He just looks sooooo cute.

Yes I actually scrapped in July. I temporarliy got my mojo back. Seems to have gone again now though. Hopefully I will be able to find it somewhere is my office.

Brendan & Mia with Andrew McCullough & Peter Wallace from the Broncos. We had a great evening at the store with the guys and B105. It was fantastic. The came and signed autographs. Andrew was facinated with Masen. B105 were awesome too. They brought there little trailer and set up the Wii's and there was heaps of kids playing and just generally having lots of fun. The night was a great success.

Mia - 5. Masen - 11 weeks.
In June Mia, Masen, Grandma & I went to Sydney for 2 days. We went to see my Gran as she hadn't seen Masen since he was born. She was so happy that we came and I was happy to see her. Anyway, while we were there we went to see my Aunty & Uncle. He has built a Shelby Cobra from scratch. Its fantastic!!! Mia loved it. She said its his racing car.

Our Boat..... Cher...... she has gone. Gone to Townsville to live with a new family. We sold her. We just haven't really had the time to use her since Brendan started at Red Rock and with us starting the new business Brendan didn't want to see her just sitting in our front yard. Masen got to go out on her once which was nice.

I got Masen's hands and feet moulded the same as I did with Mia. They were both taken when they were 2 weeks old. I am so glad that I have these. Its hard to believe that Mia was ever that small and I am sure that in 5 years time I will be saying the same about Masen.
Well thanks for reading. It didn't turn out to be too much at all.

I just have one more thing to add. My bestest friend in the whole world Char has started her Spiritual Business back up. Its called "Angels By The Bay". It's wonderful and beatiful and she is doing really well. I have put a link over on the left in websites I frequent. Go and have a look. She is doing all sorts of great courses not just spiritual stuff. I am actually doing her Astrology course. Have done Week 1 of 5 weeks and loving it. Will let you know once I am finished.

Quick catch up........ Mia turned 5 on the 14th May. We had a quiet night at home with Mark, Char & Ethan and did the birthday thing. On the Saturday she had her birthday party. She had a whole heap of friends there and so did we. Mia had a great time at the party. She got spoilt rotten. My wonderful friend Tracey even brought her face painting stuff and painted all the kids faces. (Thanks again Tracey)
Masen is now 7 weeks old and I had him weighed yesterday. He is now 5.2kgs or 11lb 4oz. However you prefer it. He is eating well, obviously. Sleeps well and is such a beautiful little boy. (Sorry below is the most recent pic.) I know I am slack. Will get onto that.

Anyway, no scrapping as yet just pics. Thanks for dropping by.....

... where has the time gone???? Can't believe it. The time is flying by already and I haven't even scrapped him yet. Have heaps of pics to scrap with, just no scrapping. Haven't had time really. Barely have enough time to get the usual stuff done and even then my floors and a couple of other things have suffered. Really going to try and do that stuff this week. Mind you its Tuesday already and tomorrow I have groceries to do. Oh and I need to get Masen weighed. Can't wait to see how heavy he is now. Should be interesting... Anyway, better get going, still have a whole heap of things to do and I really need to get the girl to bed. Thanks for popping in....

Masen Vaughn Baeb. Born Tuesday 6th April 2010. 6.29am Weight: 7lb 7.5oz/3400gms. Length: 50cm. Head: 34cm.

Yes I have been a little busy, not scrapping that is. Gave birth to my second child. We now have a perfect pidgeon pair. We are the happiest parents ever. Masen is just wonderful. He is now 2 weeks and 2 days old. He looks just like Mia did when she was a baby. Just want to say thankyou to everyone's well wishes and beautiful cards and gifts. He is one very spoilt little boy.

Scrapability Sketches

I have recently joined another forum with some friends of mine. Its called Scrapability Sketches. They have some really nice monthly challenges over there. ITs really just something else for me to scrap which keeps me busy. Anyway they started a challenge a little while ago call Scrap Soup. Basically they give a daily thing that need to go on a lo and then a twist at the end. Then you have a week to scrap it. The DT then decides the bottom 3 and they have a scrap off. We then vote and and 1 stays in the comp. So far I have avoided the bottom 3 but its bound to happen eventually. Anyway, below are the first 3 weeks worth. Will keep you all up to date with how I go.

Week 3:

Combination of any 3 colours : The colours pink, black, white, kraft, purple, green, red, blue and silver

Distress your photos and doodle on them

Include a one word title

Layout not to include family or loved ones..

Rubons..

Include a quote somewhere on your layout as well

Week 2:

Monday March 1 - Kraft Cardstock

Tuesday March 2 - Bling/pearls

Wednesday March 3 - Transparency/ies/shiny embelly

Get ready...

for a big catch up of photos and scrapping.

So I know its been ages since I have blogged but I have been busy getting ready for the baby, Mia at school etc. So I am now 38 weeks. Just had a hospital appointment this morning. Everything is going really well. I am ready for him to come out now. I have also scrapped alot in the last month. I have done all of March's challenges and ready for April.
Mia is doing really well at school. She got her first report card the other day. It was awesome. She also received an award on parade the other week. I was so proud seeing her up there in front of the whole junior school accepting it. She also had cross country the other day. She said it was lots of running, a whole 400m. She got a ribbon for participating. Then tonight she had her first school disco. She had the best time. She was pretty hyped up when she got home but she crashed pretty quickly once she got to bed. Alot of firsts for her this year. She is growing up so fast. Term 1 finishes next week. Can't believe that its over already.

Scrapping for 2010...

has started. I have been so busy lately I am only just catching up now. Brendan resigned from his job just over 3 weeks ago and decided to have a change and look for something else. I am glad that he did. So he had 3 weeks off. Geez it flew by fast... He started his new job today. He is in training for 4 weeks and will be the Operations Manager for Red Rock Noodles. I am so very happy for him and so very excited. In between all of that Mia started school this year. I still can't believe that she is at school. Feels like yesterday that she was a brand new baby in my arms. She loves school. She gets very tired by the end of the week but I am sure that once she starts to settle in she will be fine. Now that Brendan is back at work and Mia is at school I should be able to get some sort of routine back in place and be able to keep on top of things a little better. That is until April sometime when Baby no. 2 is born. I am feeling hug but everyone says that I am only little. The days are hot and I am carrying around a heater so the air con is getting a good workout. I have pretty much got his room all sorted. Just a couple of last minute things to do and get. Really need to take some more pics. with only 7 and a half weeks to go I should really try and get on top of that.
So therefore my scrapping has suffered lately... I just haven't had the time or the inclination to do much. Got 2 lo's done over the weekend and Brendan was away so that was good. Anyway below is what little I have got done this year...

Mia had her Christmas Party at her Kindy on Thursday. (the first photo is a bit weird cause I wanted to block everyone else out) She had a great time. Still wouldn't get up and sing with the other kids but she quite happily got up and accepted her present from Santa. All the other kids ripped into their presents but hers is under our tree. She said she wanted to save it for Christmas Day. Both Brendan and I were really suprised.

7 more sleeps till Santa comes. As Mia reminds me everyday how many sleeps. I have all my shopping done and dusted. Thank goodness. Just grabbed the last couple of things today. If I don't get on here again beforehand, Merry Christmas everyone. Stay safe!!!

Update....

So here I am over a month later, (much to a few of my friends disgust) I am finally updating this. I have just been so busy that everytime I think about it I either don't have time or its late and I'm tired.
Anyway, so last month, I attended a Scrapping Retreat. Had a fantastic time. Friday to Sunday of complete me time, scrapping, chatting, eating, etc. It was wonderful and thanks to Tracey & Lesa for organising it. Its just a few of us that chat online that decided we needed to get away. It was awesome!!!

We also headed up to Cotton Tree, Maroochydore camping for the weekend. That was great fun. The was 3 families and the kids had a great time swimming. Mia is a fish and I think she would have stayed in the water all day if we let her.

I did a reasonable amount of scrapping last month. Below are a whole heap of pics of what I have been up to. This month though the scrapping is not flowing so well. I have done nothing. Had no mojo!!! Mia had her Kindy Graduation on the 30th November. Its was ok. She got up and accepted her certificate but refused to get up and sing and dance with the other kids.
My friends, Mark & Char have adopted there baby boy. His name is Ethan and is 8 months old. Will have to ask her if its ok to put a pic up in here. He is just beautiful and a very happy baby.
Also big news is Rachelle from Scrapping Outback has had a very hard week and I think that its not going to get any easier coming up to Christmas either. I hope that it does!! Her husband was involved in a very serious car accident last week and is in hospital and is not doing that weel. He is in a coma and on life support. I am hoping and praying that Rachelle and the family get some good news for Christmas.

Anyway, thats pretty much the catch up. (Happy now Trace & nene!!!) Will try and remember to update again soon.

Scrapping Outback is really throwing out the Challenges this week. We are now into week 3 of the Ladies Place Your Bids Competition and its becoming to be alot of work. As promised, some more scan pics. These were taken at 12 weeks 3 days. I am now 14 weeks. Another scan dues in about 4 weeks. Things are going really well. Bub is growing nicely and they are happy with its progress. Me too. Mia is very excited, still. She keeps saying to me that my belly is getting fat. Which it is but anyway....

Scrapping Weekend Away

Where: Currimundi Recreation Centre
When: 13th, 14th & 15th November (friday night, Saturday night)
Cost: $72 all inclusive
Incuded: 2 nights accomodation, 3 meals per day, morning and afternoon tea, a dining room for us to eat and scrap. and its right on the beach!!

Some Big News....

Yes I am pregnant!!! Both Brendan & I are very excited. This scan was taken at 6 weeks and 3 days. Its that tiny little blob in the centre if the dark bit. At that point baby was .37mm long. Amazing really..... Anyway I am now 9 weeks today. Due 9th April. Feeling like crap everyday. Forgot how tired you get. Plus I am now another 5 years older than when I was pregnant with Mia. Atleast thats what my Doctor keeps telling me.... Anyway will keep you updated as things progress.

Scrapping Outback Mini Masters

Yes I know, I know, its been ages since I have been on here. But I have been really busy. Firstly we went to Vegas on the 3.8.09. Had 8 amazing days in Las Vegas. It is an absolutely wonderful place. Somewhere that everyone should visit in their lifetime. Then back to reality on the 12.8.09. A couple of days of jet lag and then back into normal life. Its been very full on.

Anyway below is a whole heap of scrapping that I have just done. I entered the Mini Masters at Scrapping Outback. We had 4 challenges to complete in August. As I was away for nearly half of August I really had to get my butt into gear once we got home. Got them all done. The only one thats missing from here is the mini album. I will put pics up for that in a seperate post as there are heaps and I need to sort them out. Also there are 3 other layouts below for other challenges. So anyway, keep an eye out for my next couple of posts. Some big news coming......

Another lo that I got done this week. Very simple but I like it. Haven't done alot of scrapping lately, been very busy organising our holiday. Brendan & I are off to Las Vegas this coming Monday for 7 nights of heaven at the Bellagio. We are both very much looking forward to some rest and relaxation and of course seeing the sights of Vegas. I will try and get on while we are away with an update and maybe some pics. If not I will give you all a full run down when we get back.

When I get back from Vegas I have alot of scrapping to do. Over at Scrapping Outback this month they are having a Mini Masters Comp. I have 3 lo's to do, 1 mini album and of course the normal 3 challenges that they have over there every month. I will be a very busy girl. See ya soon.

SO Challenges

July this month over at Scrapping Outback. Trudi, our guest DT member has posted the sketch challenge. We had to do a layout about Christmas but not using traditional christmas colours. Below is my take on the sketch.

For the last couple of weeks we at SO have been foloowing the Rusty Pickle Amazing Race. Its where they have to do a series of scrapping challenges in a certain time frame. From that girls are chosen to be on the RP Design Team. Over at Scrapping Outback we had the pleasure and suprise of hosting the final leg of the race. It was truly amazing. The work that the girls did was spectacular. Our very own Jules at SO was in the race and has now been chosen to be on the RP DT. We are all very excited for her and wish her well in her role. Anyway, the RP challenge this month was to do something using either the "Rockin America" range or the "Candyland"range. The same as the girls on the last leg of the race. We however have most of the month to complete it, not 3 days thank goodness. Anyway, I used the Rockin America range and I must say that I absolutely love it. Have bought more of it.... shhh, don't tell hubby. We had to do a lo about celebrating. I am really quite happy with it. It is very simple but effective I think.

On Saturday I went down to the park to take some family shots of some friends of mine. When they left I pulled out Mia's bike and she had a bit of a ride. I got some nice shots, nothing outstanding of her. It was way too windy for her wispy fine hair unfortunately but I did get a couple of ok ones. Below are some of them. She had fun anyway....

Well I have been very busy. Have had 2 great weeks of Chipboard High School. We are now finished!!!! YEAH!!!! Graduation is coming up very soon and they will be announcing winners in the next couple of weeks. Check out the gallery over at Scrapping Outback to see all the great work the ladies have done over there.

Apart from that Mia turned 4 yesterday. We had her birthday party Saturday last week and then just a few friends over for cake last night. She is growing up to be such a big girl. Talks alot, gives us attitude... A typical 4 yr old girl.

Mia's Swimming Lessons

Mia started swimming lessons about 8 weeks ago and she is doing really well. For someone who didn't really like swimming pools she is coming along in leaps and bounds. She now gets in the water no worries and even swims a couple of metres by herself kicking hard behind her. I am so proud of her.

April 4 Product Challenge for Scrapping Outback. This months pack consisted of Card stock, Patterned Paper, 3 Buttons and some chipboard flower frames and circles. It was a great pack and I had alot of fun with this one. Not something I would pick for myself but I ended up loving the finished product. The photo is of my brother Andrew and his wife Jodee taken at their Wedding September last year.

Easter Sunday

Easter morning Mia woke up to a trail of eggs that led from her bedroom all the way out to the loungeroom where the easter bunny had so graciously left a stash of chocolate eggs. She did extremely well and I am now sure sh will be eating chocolate for the next month. (However Bundy ended up with a tall chocolate bunny by accident...) She had a great morning and ate chocolate most of the day. Probably not the best thing or a 3 yr old but hey, its easter!!!

After we had done the easter bunny thing we packed up the boat and headed out onto the bay for a morning of boating and swimming for Mia. (Water was way too cold for me to be swimming.) Had a nice morning out on the bay, even with the rain... Took some friends with us in their new boat and her parents in their new boat. It was lovely. Kids running around on the sand. The guys went for a swim and played frisbie for a while. Decided to head back home and call it a day. About 10 minutes out from the boat ramp our friends boat broke down. We were powering on ahead and I noticed that they had stopped. We stopped and headed back to see what was up. Something wrong with a cable somewhere apparently. So we threw out a rope and headed home. Was a shame that they ended up with problems but was a nice day out anyway.

Later that afternoon we took Mia down to my best friends new house, (they are building a house) and the easter bunny had visited their place too for Mia. She had a ball hunting around their half finished house looking for eggs. Forgot to take the camera down for the egg hunt. Wish I had of...

Yes I have scrapped lately. I made a canvas for Mia and have also done quite a few layouts. I have been doing an online class at Scrapping Outback. Its called Chipboard High School. Every week we are doing something different with Chipboard. We have been learning all sorts of cool things. I have pics and will upload them soon. Also have done some great challenges from there too. Really enjoying my scrapping again. Its been a while and didn't really have any mojo as such for ages. All seems to be coming back now.

Anyway, Happy Easter everyone and will try and get scrapping pics on soon.

Christmas Catch Up...

Ok, so its been ages since I have updated this but here goes.....

On the 1st of December Mia and I put up our little Christmas Tree. She had so much fun. It was a little lop sided with decorations but it looked lovely anyway. We even put up some Christmas lights outside but I forgot to get photos of those. This year Mia was so into Christmas. She kept asking about Santa and how he was going to leave presents for her.

Christmas Eve Mia put out Tim Tams for Santa and a glass of milk. She also put out some reindeer food. (Thanks Tayla!!) Christmas morning Mia woke up to presents from Santa in her bedroom. He had snuck them into her room in the middle of the night. She got a shell pool, fishing rod and lots of other things. Santa had eaten the Tim Tams, drunk the milk and I think the reindeer enjoyed their food.

Here is Mia with her lollie pop. That was all she wanted from Santa. He brought her 5 so she was extremely happy. Santa did well this year.

First stop Christmas Day was to Brendan's parents house. Santa had been there too!! We had brunch with them and sat and relaxed and chatted. Obviously Mia got spoilt rotten. I think Brendan was just happy to have his Mum home for Christmas. (She had a burst aneurysm and a stroke in October, he very nearly lost her.)

Our next stop was Deb & John's. Some friends of my Mum & Dads. Luckily they are at Victoria Point so we didn't have alot of driving to do that day. We had lunch there and ate way too much!! Mia, again got spoilt rotten. She got a V-Smile from my Mum & Dad and some games from them too. We also got her a couple of games and my Brother and his wife did too. Had a lovely lunch and sat and had a relax there too.

This is Mia playing with her V-Smile. It has a microphone and in some of the games it has songs that you can sing. She absolutely loves it.

After lunch I had a bit of a play trying to get some nice close-ups of Deb's table centre piece.

This was the dessert that I made. Rocky Road Ice Cream Cake. It was really good. Plan to make it again soon.

Boxing Day we headed out on our boat. We took Mick, Janine and Angela with us too. They had a great time. They brought a beautiful lunch for us. (Thanks guys!!) It was such a lovely day, just sitting and relaxing on the beach. It was wonderful. Really what Brendan and I both needed. We have both been very busy with work and needed a break.

Yesterday I dragged her new little splash pool outside and filled it with water. She had a great time playing in it.

Last night we got a doozy of a storm at out place. So I quickly got the camera out and started to have a play. For Christmas I got a new Tripod and a cable release shutter button. Very exciting!!! Anyway got the camera out and had a play for a while. However it go very well. This was the best one that I got. Unfortunately the lightning wasn't very dramatic, more just white lighting up the sky rather than actual strikes. Well not that I could see anyway. I had done a little research on how to set up the camera for lightning shots but I did have a little trouble with it. I guess I will just need more practice. Anyway the rain chased me inside and I didn't get anymore shots. Will just need to wait for the next storm. Apparently we are supposed to be getting one tonight. Hope so!!!

Anyway hope you all had a lovely Christmas and now it is nearly New Years. Stay safe over the holidays and hopefully it won't be so long in between posts now.

Yeah I know....

...its been a while. I have been ultra busy. With what I am not sure but anyway. Have scrapped a little, well not much actually 2 Lo's in 4 weeks. Not great really. I am currently doing a Journalling class. Its online with Jessica Sprague. Really very interesting so far. Had to make a book and a mini jotter which is actually quite cute. Thinking that they would make nice Christmas Present. So yes I guess I have scrapped recently. Now we are up to the part where we are learning things I have 2 parts to and assignment which I really need to read up on what I need to do and get onto that. Might try and catch up tomorrow.

In other news Brendan's, (My Husband) Mum suffered a burst aneurysm 3 and a bit weeks ago. She had 3 operations and is now out of ICU. She is in the Neurology ward and doing well. Her speech and her memory was really quite affected by it but its slowly coming back.

Some other very exciting news is that I am opening a shop at Cleveland on Monday. It's an Art shop. I am selling art on canvas, prints on canvas actually. My supplier also does Photos on Canvas. They are really great. I have a couple at home. Really want to get some more done. The shop is only temporary till the first week of January but it should be interesting and it will keep me very busy for the next few weeks. Oh if you want to check out some of the prints go to the Canvas Art Factory and check it out.

Jibbinbar Scrap Meet '08

Well I had a great weekend away. Didn't get much scrapping done though. I haven't taken pics of Lo's yet. Will do tomorrow.
We talked alot, ate alot, did a bit of 4WD'ing, did a bit of shooting (target practice only), more talking oh and some scrapping. It was a fabulous weekend and sooooo can't wait to go back. Really want to take the Hubby and daughter down there. Lesa was a fantastic host and she really did organise a great weekend. Thanks again for having us Lesa. Really, really enjoyed myself!!!

Scrapping again...

Yes I am scrapping again. Spent the day at a friends house on Thursday and scrapped like a champion. I did these 3 Lo's within hours. Couldn't believe I had it in me as I haven't scrapped for sooo long. I have another couple in the works that are not quite yet finished. I will put them up as soon as I have finished them.

In other news I am off to Stanthorpe on Friday next week for the weekend. A friend of mine has a house out there and we are off for a scrapping weekend. Can't wait. Should be so much fun!!! Will post pics and lo's when I get back.

The last weekend of August Brendan, myself and 6 of our best friends went to Straddie for my 30th Birthday. We had a great time. Drinking, relaxing, talking and laughing all kid free which made it even more relaxing. While we were there the boys went out on the Jet Ski's (thanks Paddy) a couple of days. On the Saturday whilst Brendan was out on the ski a whale appeared right near him and put on a show for us right up close to the shore. It was amazing. So without further adue here are some pics of the amazing experience...

OSS Resignation

It is with great sadness that I have resigned from the One Stop Scrapping Design Team. I have lost a bit of my scrapping mojo and was struggling to keep up with it all at this point in time. I am really busy now with the Boat club, work and of course everything else involved in running a family. I would like to thank Jaki, Sam and Ali for their help, love, support and guidance over the last 9 months. I could not have done it without them. I wish them the best for the rest of the year.
To Tracey C, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for given me the fantastic opportunity.
To Tracey K, I wish you all the best with the shop.

Thanks again everyone for all your support but it was time for me to take a step back.

.......finally. I have been pretty slack with the whole uploading of lo's and photos lately and for that I am sorry. The reason for the lack of photos is because of the broken lense which is now currently away getting fixed. Woohooo!! The lack of lo uploading would be because of the lack of lo creating. Been not very motivated. I have done a couple for OSS DT but you will have to go to the OSS gallery to check those out for now. I have also done a couple of cards for a swap but no sneaking a peek of those for now either. Hoping to get some scrapping done today in between looking after a sick girl and wahsing. I have however done all the ironing so that feels good. Anyway the photo above is from a couple of weeks ago. Mia and I went to the hairdressers and she now has a fringe. She looks so grown up with her little fringe. Its really nice. Suits her actually. Atleast now her hair doesn't fall down in fri=ont of her face all the time. Well it does but now its just shorter....
Anyway better go and have some lunch. Hopefull some scrapping to come after that.

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Hey its me again, still no scrapping at the moment. Have a lot of scrapping to do this month though so you should see some soon. Have probaly overcommited myself this year but hey what the heck, gotta keep myself busy. Would hate to get bored!!! With the DT at OSS, work, family and home I now have added something else into the mix. Hubby and I have joined a boat club and are now on the comittee. Hubby is now the Vice Commodore and I am the bulletin editor. Have to type up and email and post the monthly newsletter. OMG!!! What have I done. Oh well its a challenge. So if I don't get on here too much at the end of every month atleast you will know where I am, maddly scrapping or typing up a newsletter!!!!

OSS Grand Opening Gala

Last night was the OSS Grand Opening Gala. It has moved and is under new management. The shop is alot smaller than the old one but is jam packed with all sorts of new things. Lots of new stock. Although I think she will have found that it looks a little depleted this morning. It looked like it has been attacked last night. I think she will have had a fairly good night. Congrats to Tracey for what appeared to be a successful opening.

Last week we received some sad news that Mel Hinton a friend of mine and a regular on the OSS Forum had her house burn down last Thursday. It was terrible news and my thoughts are with her. I sent a small care package to her yesterday. Not much but I guess its something.

Also big news this week is that Tracey has sold One Stop Scrapping. She is closing the doors this Saturday. Its very sad and I will miss Tracey heaps. I am so used to seeing her all the time it will be hard to adjust to seeing her not as often. The new owner, her name is Tracey also, is moving the shop over to Birkdale. Should be interesting and a nice new start to OSS. I am still on the Design Team so you will still be able to see my work on the OSS web.

Raining and cold here today. Perfect weather for scrapping. If only I could get off the computer to actually do something....

Yes I actually been catching up on my scrapping. Finally getting some done. Below, the first one is a challenge that Lesa set for the Design Team on One Stop Scrapping. We had to use felt lace. I love that photo of Mia. She turned around at just the right time.

Last month Trace gave me some beautiful black and white paper from the new Rusty Pickle Pop Star range. Absolutely loved it. Anyway below is what I did with it. The first one is when Mia was a baby and she was being breastfed. The second layout would have to be my favourite layout that I have ever done. I love it. The photo for that lo was taken onboard the cruise ship. The kids club on there had some professional photos done of the kids. I love it!!!

Day 2 at Yeppoon

Day 2 was just as much fun but thankfully not as busy. We got up and went and had breakfast at the hotel. We ate way too much as you usually do at those buffet breakfast things. We then headed for a walk around part of the hotel grounds. They were absolutely magnificent. The pool was amazing. HUGE!!! The we checked out and jumped into my brothers car and went for a drive. We headed out on the coast road and checked out all the sights of Yeppoon, Keppel Bay and Emu Point. It is so beautiful. All the islands that are right there just off the coast. Took lots more photos and got some amazing shots. Just after lunch time we went to my Brothers house and lazed around there all afternoon. It was lovely and relaxing and spent some quality time with Andrew and Jodee. Was great to see where they live. Later that night they took us to the airport. We caught the last flight out of there. Had a good flight back. A little bumpy at times. Then straight home to bed. It was an exhausting weekend.

Day 1 at Yeppoon...

We went to Yeppoon on the Weekend. My brother Andrew had gotten engaged and he and Jodee (his fiancee) were having there Engagement Party. It was really lovely. We flew up first thing Saturday morning. Mia's first time on an Aeroplane. She really enjoyed it. Had sore ears for a couple of minutes on the decent but I soon got her eating and the soreness went away. Mum, Dad & Gran had driven up there on Thursday and were there to meet us and my Aunty & Uncle at the airport. We we a bit early for the party so we drove to some shops and had some morning tea. After that it was time to party.... The party was at Jodee's Mum's house. She lives halfway between Rockhampton and Yeppoon on 14 acres of beautiful bushland. A big old queenslander with huge verandahs that go all the way round the house. The party was lovely. Lots of people obviously care alot about Andrew & Jodee. They had a yummy cake which Mia promptly asked if it was her Birthday!!

After the party we all headed to the hotel to check-in. It was beautiful. We stayed at Rydges at Yeppoon. This is the Pool at night.

We all got changed and headed back out to Jodee's Mum's for dinner where should put on another delicious spread. A BBQ this time. Her partner Dave cooked up some Buffalo which he had caught 3 weeks before. It was really yummy.

...and another week is flying by. Worked today, it was really quiet in the shop today so when the option came up to go for a drive to deliver some stock I jumped at the chance. Atleast I felt like I was doing something. Was really bored at work. Sent Char texts in the morning, then spoke to her on the phone. Was really, really bored!!!
Anyway, enough of that. Work tomorrow, then Wednesday night Roast night. YEAH!!!! No cooking. I love Wednsday nights. As much as I winge cause the club keeps putting the price up I still love going out with my friends to have a roast, a drink and a chat. I missed it when we stopped going for a little while there.
Thursday, hair appointment and Friday I am washing and packing. We are off to Yeppoon for the weekend. My Brother has got engaged and he and Jodee are having there engagement party. I am taking my big camera and a tripod in the hopes of getting some nice family pics. All the family will be there so hopefully some nice shots. Also looking forward to maybe some warmer weather. Its been pretty cool here at night. I miss summer.
Anyway rambling now. I still haven't put pics from the cruise on here yet. I will try and get them on here soon. Will try to do it before we go this weekend.

Some recent scrapping....

Well we have settled back into normal life after the cruise. Mia was sick a couple of weeks ago so I had the week off work with her. It was nice to spend some quality time with her. I also got a bit of scrapping done. The Tracey at One Stop Scrapping held the scrapathon. It was a great day. Very long but still a great day. Had soooooo much fun. I held a class which I was really nervous about but I actually had fun doing it. Sorry to everyone for making you hand sew. Go on I know you loved it. For those of you that couldn't make it you missed out on a really great day. Have not scrapped since however...... actually still haven't unpacked from it. lol!!!!

Been busy. Brendan had his fishing comp on the weekend. He actually caught fish. An esky full of Snapper. He also won a fishing rod. He was really happy and had a great weekend. I worked on the Saturday for him and then spent the rest of the time with Mia. She is really growing and talking lots now. She is turning into a little girl overnight...... my baby is gone......

2 more sleeps till the cruise. I can't wait. We have all got some new clothes, just need to pack now. I have a new camera. Got the Canon 400D. Love it to bits. Have had so much fun with it all week learning about it. Will hopefully get some awesome scrapping pics on the cruise.

Well only 1 week now until we go on our cruise. Can't wait. Really should start to get organised. Have done a bit of scrapping this month. Not heaps. Wish I could have. Just haven't had the time unfortunately. Life has been very busy for us. Mia will be 3 in 11 days and I just don't know where the time has gone. She is just growing up so fast. Anyway below is last months DT layouts and some other ones that I have done recently. I have also done some scrapping for Mothers Day. One Stop Scrapping has got a couple of big events coming up. Of course there is the Scrapathon and now a Cyber Crop.

Cost includes, all day scrapping with no nagging kids and husbands, lunch, dinner, supper, morning and afternoon tea. Also coffee, tea, bottled water and nibblies. One Stop Scrapping website is up and running. For those of you who have bigpond there is a quick fix so that you can get online to their website. However you still need to complain to Bigpond as the problem is not totally fixed. Below are the instructions for you t do so you can get online.....

Got to "my computer"
Then "control panel"
Then " network and internet connections"
Then got to "network connections"
Right click over "local area connection" and click on "properties"
Click on "internet protocol"
Click on " properties"
Under the general tab click "use the following dns server address"
In the "preferred dns server" type 208.67.222.222
In the "alternate dns server" type 208.67.222.220
then click "OK"

You should now be able to view www.onestopcrapping.com.au

OSS Scrapathon date is set....

One Stop Scrapping is having a Scrapathon. Its set for the 31st May 2008 at the Wynnum Manly Darts Club. 9am to Midnight. It will include morning and afternoon tea, lunch, dinner and supper. Tea, coffee and bottled water, nibblies and 2 make and takes. There will be plenty Lucky Door Prizes etc. Price for the day is $85. Be quick to book in as places are filling up fast.

Should be a fantastic day/night. I can't wait.

Have finally done some scrapping. YEAH!!!!! Can't show you just yet but here is a sneak peek to next months DT lo's for One Stop Scrapping. Feels really great to be back scrapping again. Its only been a couple of weeks but it feels like a lot longer. So great to be creating again.

Yes thats right, thats all I feel I have done lately. Brendan & I worked over Easter and I feel I have hardly seen Mia in the last week. But she is enjoying her new 3 days at kindy. I think the 3 days is working better than the 2 days.
Mia got totally spoilt over Easter. My fridge is overflowing with chocolate. Mind you it doesn't help that Brendan brought home a whole heap from work aswell.
We did get out on the boat one night over the weekend which was nice. I haven't stayed on it for a while and it was nice to do that again.
No scrapping to show as I have not done any. However over the next few days I have heaps to do. Hopefully I will have something to show you all in the next week. I have a couple of things on the go but as they are presents and I know that the recipients get on here regularly I will not be showing them just yet. Once they have them I will show you all.
Anyway have to get ready, today is my day to run errands and go groceries and maybe even scrap a little bit.

6x6 lo's

Well we posted them on Thursday and we at One stop Scrapping were thrilled to have posted off 500. Yes thats right 500. We couldn't believe it. One lovely lady Sonja made 160. Julie is amazed and can't wait to receive the package. Thanks again to all the girls who helped.

So its been more than a week since I was last here and so much has been happening. I am now back to work 2 days a week and really enjoying it. Mia is now in daycare 3 days a week and she is loving it. Been doing heaps of scrapping, although not so much this week. Been really busy with life in general.

Worked all day today, yesterday I was at the cricket. Saw Australia play India in the one day game. Australia lost which was a shame but being there was fantastic. Saw Adam Gilchrist play his last game. Unfortunately he got out for 2 which was a bit sad. It was also Brad Hogg's last game but he was 12th man so we didn't see him play. I went with Dad and sat in the members stand. It is really wonderful sitting up there. The seats are better, your not in the sun at all so no real chance of getting sunburnt which is nice. We had dinner in the dining room which was really lovely. I have kept the menu, tickets and took some pics with my phone so look out for a scrapping project coming soon.

Below is some of my latest scrapping. Also some of Mia's first lot of scrapping. She wanted to do some so I got some bits out for her and she had a play. She has since pulled the pages apart and stuck stuff elsewhere so I am glad that I got some pics of them before the wrecked them.

Pizza Scrap = Good Things....

Last Saturday night we had out Pizza Scrap at One Stop Scrapping. The night was great fun with lots of laughs and scrapping in some great company. My aim of the night was to do as many 6x6 lo's for the Southern Cross Kids Camp that I spoke about in my last post. Some of the other girls there have also gotten behind the cause and made a whole heap too. We got 80 pages done on the night. Since then some of the other girls for the One Stop Scrapping Forum have also made more. Our toal so far is up to 139. really happy and very excited to be posting it to be Julie soon. We are aiming for 200 6x6 lo's. It would be really great to make such a huge contribution to Julie's cause. Very excited about it all. Might do some more tomorrow.

Other news, I am going back to work part time. Just Tuesdays and Wednesday. So no more Happy Scraps for me at OSS on Tuesdays. But thats ok. Mia will be going into Kindy 1 extra day a week and I will still have Thursdays to myself to get all my usual chores done, groceries, cleaning etc..... Yuk!!! Looking forward to the challenge and some adult company. And a little more money to go towards our cruise in May.

Mia & Brendan are both well. We are all pretty busy with our usual day to day lives. Hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Doing something good...

I was browsing blogs today and found on Trini's blog about this new adventure that she is undertaking. She too was searching blogs and came across a lovely lady called Julie Stone. She is affiliated with the Southern Cross Kids Camp. She is asking anyone in the scrapping community to do some 6x6 pages for albums for these kids. They need 1600 pages. So I have decided to help. I am hoping that by putting this here in my blog I will somehow be able to help even a little bit. I will also be scrapping some pages for these kids.

Please if you can spare a little time and a few scrapping supplies to help out that would be fantastic.

This was Mia yesterday sleeping on the lounge. She laid like this for most of her sleep. Don't know she could possibly have been comfortable. Anyway just wanted to share it with you. So cute...
Things are great. Didn't get much scrapping done last week. Got some stuff done for the One Stop Scrapping design team. Can't share it with you all just yet. Will fill you in as soon as I can.
We are having a Scrap 'n' Chat this Friday night at the One Stop Scrapping Forum. Should be a great night. We will be having challenges, games, scrapping and some laughs. Should be heaps of fun. Can't wait. Everything will be kicking off at 7.30pm QLD Time, 22nd Febuary. Hope you can join us for some fun.
On the home front everyone is well. Mum got back from England on Saturday. It is great to have her home. Her and Dad are moving today. Hope they are going ok with that. I hate moving. Their new house is just beautiful. Will take some pics when it is completely finished and will post them here. They still have to do lawns and gardens.
Brendan is busy with work. I actually went and did some work for him on Saturday. They have an outpost at the moment at Grand Plaza at Browns Plains. Seems to be going well for them at the moment.
Anyway, hoping to get some scrapping done this week. I don't have much on so it could be time to catch up on some stuff. Friday night I have the mini-cyber crop at One Stop Scrapping. Saturday night is Pizza Scrap at the store. Looking forward to that. 2 nights of scrapping and chatting in a row. Can't wait.......

January's DT lo's for Ones Stop Scrapping were all about Christmas!! It was heaps of fun. Never really done much Christmas stuff. We also had to scrap an excercise book for Back to School. Really great ideas came out of it.

Moving up in the world.....

Mia had her first full day in her new class today. She has moved up into the next group at her kindy. She had a fantastic day. This afternoon when she came home her and I made baby cakes. She enjoyed playing with the rest of the icing more than anything as you can tell by the photos below.

Australia Day Weekend

Australia Day Brendan worked. Mia & I went to the airport to see Mum off. She has gone to England for 3 weeks to spend time with family. That night I went to Pizza Scrap at One Stop Scrapping. Had a great night. I think it was probably my most productive Pizza Scrap ever. I got a double lo finished. 1 double lo done and 2 single lo's. All of them are from our UK trip. My Uk album is finally filling up.

Yesterday we went to Tiplers on the boat and spent the day on the beach. Mia had a great time swimming. We went with some friends and their kids so they all had a great time playing in the water. We mostly just sat in the shade and did nothing. The guys got up a couple of times and went and played cricket on the beach. The kids joined in with them and they had heaps of fun. No pics sorry. Forgot to take the camera.

Year in Review.

This year the Design Team for One Stop Scrapping are doing a Year in Review album. We will be using the calendars that we received in the calendar swap. Its a great idea and I have started mine already. We plan to get the rest of the One Stop Scrapping Forum involved in it as much as possible by doing their own album.
Here is the front cover of my album. As the year progresses I will fill in the blanks in the album and will post a pic every month of our year in review. Thanks to Jaki for coming up with such a great idea.

This months Book of Me Challenge set by Jaki was 'My 21st'. I searched through all my old photos only to find that I had one pic of my 21st. So that was it. It's a 6x12 Lo and I love doing that size. Its only my second one at that size but its fun to do. Probably because it different.

A very close friend of ours had a Baby Boy yesterday so last night I whipped this card up. Congratulations to Hayden & Tanya on the birth of their first child. No name as yet. But he came into the world yesterday at 2pm at a healthy 8 pound 1 ounce. No pics yet but as soon as I do I will show. Can't wait to see him....
